Mt. Haguro

The most accessible of the Dewa Sanzan, Mt. Haguro represents the world of the present and is the only mountain open year-round. Hike up its 2,446 steps through its massive cedar forest while taking in the serene beauty of this holy mountain.

Mt. Gassan

Representing the world of the afterlife, Mt. Gassan is the highest of the Dewa Sanzan and has a long and rewarding trail that leads to its shrine overlooking the entirety of the Shonai Domain.

Mt. Yudono

Regarded as the most sacred of the Dewa Sanzan, Mt. Yudono represents the world of rebirth and the future. Mt. Yudono does not require any hiking to reach its holy shrine.
